Families were invited to a party held by the City of Paris, ordered by the German occupation. This was an effort of 'good will' to show that Jews in Paris were safe.
IT WAS A LIE
Families arrived at the party and were photographed.
Children were given props, a handbag, a musical instrument, a school graduation diploma, a doll, a bowl of goldfish..
All props were added to portray 'happy people' at a festive occasion.
Children were escorted to a ballroom where they played games with other children. Danced to happy music, had popcorn, ice cream, cake and enjoyed a wonderful time.
Parents were escorted to another room to fill out papers with their home address, names, birthdays. And later they all went home with happy bellies and hope in their hearts.
One week later, all of the fathers were arrested, deported to Poland on convoys and sent to death camps in Auschwitz.
One week after that, all mothers were arrested, deported to Poland on convoys and sent to death camps in Auschwitz.
Children were sent to a holding center outside of Paris, were cared for by kinder-guards and deported on convoys to Auschwitz's gas chambers.

After the parents were shipped to Auschwitz, the children were placed in the care of Prison Kinder-Guards until they were shipped by Convoy to Auschwitz and died in the gas chamber August of 1942.
